Your old outdoor chair is killing your back – 5 reasons this super small chair doesn't leave your back aching

Your old outdoor chair is killing your back – 5 reasons this super small chair doesn't leave your back aching.

Last summer, I learned that I had wasted years of my life carrying our old outdoor chairs.

I've always thought you had to compromise on comfort if you wanted a more compact option.

But turns out, I had been carrying my heavy chair for nothing.

Here's what I learned, and how you can avoid it...

1: I couldn’t believe
how tiny this chair was

It started on a weekend trip with my friend Lauren and her family.

On the way to our destination, I noticed something strange.

Lauren didn’t seem to have packed any chairs for her family, like she normally does.

I figured she’d forgotten it… until she reached into her backpack.

At first, I thought she was grabbing a water bottle, but then she pulled out 3 tiny pouches.

"These are our new camping chairs. They're barely weigh anything, and they fit right in the side pocket,” she said with a grin.

That’s when I realized this trip wasn’t going to be like the others...

2: An 8-year-old set it up faster than I did.

When we arrived at our destination, I started to put together our outdoor chairs.

I usually do it myself since they're too complicated for my 11-year-old son.

Annoyed by the poles, I suddenly heard a "click" sound. When I looked up, Laurens' 8-year-old son had already set it up, not taking longer than 20 seconds.

But still, I knew setting up our outdoor chairs would be worth it.

I mean, if their chairs were so small and easy to set up, then they must surely be uncomfortable?

But after 15 minutes of battling with my poles, I was more exhausted than I'd been for the whole walk.

And that's the easy part compared to putting it back into its bag...

At the same time, they were sipping on their drinks, looking fully recovered from our walk.

So I asked Lauren if I could borrow one of their chairs to try, and it wasn't what I expected..

3: It felt like every muscle in my body instantly relaxed

So, I borrowed it for my next trip to test it out for real.

The first thing I noticed was that it didn't have any loose parts.

So, just like Laurens' son has taught me, the setup was stupidly quick.

But I was still worried about the comfort...

When I sat down in it, I was surprised that it didn't feel as "upright" as my old chair.

This one had a much more relaxing angle.

Plus, the seat stuck out a bit under my thighs, so my whole body was supported.

And with the breathable material, I didn't feel hot or sticky.

But even though it felt nice and packed small, I had one big concern left...

4: Would the frame snap for someone my size?

I'm a big guy, so I wasn’t sure if a chair this light could handle me.

2 years ago, the frame on my favorite chair snapped in half, almost seriously injuring me.

But reading this would support 200kg (440Ibs), I felt hopeful that this would hold up.

To test, I let my wife sit in my lap, and my children jump on it. But it didn't even wobble.

The single-piece design distributed the weight evenly, making it feel extremely solid.

Plus the feet allowed it to stand steady on all types of ground, even grass or sand for beach trips.

At that point, I thought it was the perfect chair for camping trips.

But when I let my wife use it, I realized we could use it for so much more...

4: Would the frame snap for someone my size?

5: Perfect for all family activities

After testing it out for myself, I figured this chair had to be at least $300-$400.

So when I saw the price, I was shocked...

That's how I knew getting 4 for me and my whole family would be worth it.

And for the whole summer, we brought them to the beach, to football games, and our oldest daughter even borrowed one for a festival.

Even after using them so much, the fabric still looked new!

Any liquid just ran straight off with the completely stain-free material.

Plus, if we ever wanted to clean it, the canopy was easily removable & washable.

With all those features in mind, it wasn't even the best part about this chair...

5: Perfect for all family activities

BONUS: The 30-day risk-free trial is proof of the quality

Since that first trip with Lauren, I've started recommending this for all my friends.

A few of them have been skeptical because similar chairs have been circulating on Amazon.

But whenever I hear that, I just tell them about the 30-day test-period.

It's the best way for them to see that this chair is unlike the others, without taking any risks.

Because trust me, there was no way I was going to spend another season carrying my complicated and heavy chair.

Questions from the readers

What if it tears or breaks?

Fjällbris has a 365-day warranty, so if anything goes wrong in the first year, they’ll replace it, no questions asked.

That gave me peace of mind when I ordered it. But to be honest, this thing feels really durable. So this one doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere.

Is it difficult to pack away after using it?

Honestly, packing this chair couldn’t be easier. Unlike traditional camping chairs with a bunch of poles to fit together, this one is a single-piece construction.

You just fold it up, and it’s small enough to fit in the included pouch without any problems. And I don’t have to deal with jamming zippers or pressing anything into place.

What makes this chair different from other portable chairs?

I’ve tried a lot of different camping chairs, and what makes this one stand out is how easy it is to set up and take down. The one-piece design lets you assemble it in just five seconds.

Plus, the compact size makes it so much easier to carry around. I just wish I had discovered it sooner!

Is this chair comfortable for long periods of sitting?

I had my doubts about whether a chair that folds down so small could really be comfortable for long sitting sessions. But when I sat in it for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. The ergonomic design really does make a difference. I didn’t feel stiff or sore even after sitting for hours.

Is it really sturdy enough to hold my weight?

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if something this compact could support my weight at first. But after using it, I can say it’s built tough. It supports up to 200 kg (440Ibs), which means it’s more than enough for me and a lot of others I know. It feels solid, even after hours of sitting in it. Plus, I’ve taken it on several trips and used it on uneven surfaces without any issues.

Isn’t it hard to carry since it’s compact?

I thought the compact size would mean I’d be carrying a bulky bag around. But I was wrong. When it folds down to the size of a water bottle, it fits easily into my backpack or my car’s side compartment. It's lightweight and easy to transport, making it perfect for camping or picnics.

How durable is the chair's fabric?

I was worried that something this lightweight might not be as durable, but after using it for multiple camping trips in different weather conditions, I can say the fabric is tough. It’s weather-resistant and wear-resistant.

Whether it’s rain or a rough campsite, the chair still looks great and performs perfectly.
