5 reasons these Fleece Pants keep me warmer than stacking layers Now I walk in meters of snow without feeling it

Every winter, I think the same - why did I get a dog?

Don't get me wrong, I love going on walks.

But on the coldest days, I'd either come home ice cold or soaking wet.

Then one particularly cold morning, I ran into my neighbor Sofia, who was also walking her dog. She had half the layers I did but wasn't shivering like me.

When I asked her for the secret, she pointed at something I never would have noticed...

1. The cold would still seep through into my bones

1. The cold would still seep through into my bones

When I saw her, I was stunned.

She was dressed lighter than I, but somehow looked completely comfortable.

"How do you not freeze?" - I asked.

She looked at my jeans and said, "If your legs are cold, it spreads to your whole body, regardless of how thick your jacket is."

"Feel this," she said, and let me feel the fabric on her pants.

"I have been wearing these all winter. They have a fleece inside, but moisture-wicking outside."

I was skeptical, yet still asked her for the link. But deep down I knew they would probably be more expensive than I could afford...

2. Maybe I could skip my stiff jeans for something warmer?

The next morning was bitterly cold, around freezing so I figured it was the perfect test.

I slipped them on easily, and the first thing I noticed was how soft the fleece lining felt against my skin. Plus, I could adjust it easily with the drawstring.

As soon as I stepped outside with the dog, the wind hit me in the face.

I braced myself for that familiar sting of cold seeping through. But it never came.

And even though I walked for more than 30 minutes through deep snow, I wasn't shivering.

The outer layer blocked the wind completely, and the fleece made me warm. Plus, it didn't feel bulky like wearing several layers.

But I still had questions: how would it stand up against slush or wind?

3. Would these waterproof pants pass the "slush test"?

3. Would these waterproof pants pass the "slush test"?

As I got to the end of my walk, it happened...

I had stepped into a puddle way deeper than I thought.

The snow had started melting in some places, which meant the slush came.

With my regular jeans, the wet would always creep up into my pant legs, giving me a damp ring around my ankles that never seemed to dry.

And after a few uses, the smell that developed in my regular pants was awful.

So there I was, standing and waiting for the ice-cold water to seep through. But as I looked down, the water had just beaded up and rolled off. And my ankles were completely dry.

With all this in mind, I knew that I wasn't the only one who needed it...

4. The windproof material made working in the cold way easier

When I got home that day, my husband wondered why I looked so happy.

Normally, when I got home, I was miserable and cold.

To show him, I let him feel the fleece's inner material, and his reaction said it all...

And since he usually goes out and cuts firewood during cold winter mornings, I ordered a pair for him as a surprise.

After his first time using them, he also came home happier than usual. "The wind had really picked up, but I didn't feel anything," he said with a big smile.

Plus, since the moisture didn't stick to the pants, they never start to smell.

At first, he thought it cost a fortune. So when I told him the price, he was shocked...

But even with all this in mind, there's one thing I regret...

5. I used it 100% free for the first 30 days!

I ended up ordering an extra pair for my husband. But I just now saw that you could save 50% on the second pair if you bought 2 at the same time.

So if I could do it over, I’d buy at least two from the start!

I've also given the recommendation to a few friends. Some say they have seen similar on Amazon, but when I hear that, I just tell them about the 30-day test period.

If they don't like it, they can just return it for all the money back.

But last time I checked, they were soon sold out completely for the season. Probably since it's getting colder.

Everyone likes different pants, but in my opinion, this is the better everyday option for the cold.

Questions from the readers

Do they really keep you warm in extreme cold?

Yes, I've worn them in -15°C (5°F) weather and stayed comfortable. The fleece lining is seriously warm without being bulky. My husband uses them for cutting firewood in the early mornings, and he says they're warmer than his old work pants with thermals underneath.

What if tears or breaks?

While it's highly unlikely due to the Pants' high-quality materials, accidents can happen. That's why they offer a 365-day warranty. If your pants tears or breaks within the first year, they'll replace it free of charge. However, given my experience with it, you'll probably never need to use the warranty!

Will they work in slush and wet snow?

Absolutely. I've stepped in puddles deeper than my ankles, and the water just beads up and rolls off. The cuffed ends also help keep moisture from creeping up your legs. No more cold, damp rings around your ankles.

Do they fit both men and women?

Yes, they're unisex with an elastic waistband and drawstring, so they adjust to fit comfortably. Both my husband and I wear them, and they fit us both perfectly. He's quite a bit bigger than me, and the flexible fit works great for both of us.

Do they have pockets? Are they deep enough?

Yes, they have deep zipper pockets that actually keep things secure. I can fit my phone, keys, and dog treats without worrying about them falling out when I bend down. The zippers are a lifesaver. I used to lose things all the time with regular pockets on walks.

Can you wash them in the machine?

Yes, I throw them in the washing machine regularly, and they've held up perfectly. They dry quickly, too, usually ready to wear again within a few hours. The waterproof coating hasn't degraded at all, even after multiple washes.

Are they bulky or restrictive?

Not at all. That's what surprised me most. They're lightweight and flexible, so you can move freely. I was worried they'd feel stiff, but they're actually very comfortable for all-day wear.
